Origins of the "Dream" Team

As 2019 came to an end, our founder Benjamin Hokenson had gotten the best news of his life: he was an incoming freshman at Brown University. After his college process, however, Ben saw a niche in the college consulting market for a student-run firm. Simultaneously, Ben had developed a close relationship with Stan Parish, a recent New York Times best-selling author and newspaper editor, from his own college experience. After asking Stan to join his venture as the company's main essay editor, Ben started Ivy Dreamers: elevating ordinary students into unique admissions commodities.

After a year, Ben had a few clients but one, in particular, rose to success. Cyril Leahy was a college applicant in the most difficult year in admissions history. After writing numerous Personal Statement drafts, Cyril wanted to help his friend's business. What Cyril learned, however, is that college counseling works best when students can develop relationships with their clients that allow for a better understanding of an applicant. Cyril is now an incoming freshman at Harvard University but received offers of admission to the University of Pennsylvania as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, University of Brown, the University of Cornell as a Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar, and numerous other schools. Cyril now works as Ivy Dreamer's Vice President and Lead Consultant.

Together, Ben and Cyril hope to revolutionize the college consulting landscape, leading the way for new students to achieve the Dreams that our founders themselves achieved.
